I changed oil and filter on a 99 Contour 4 cylinder Zetec engine the other day. Assumed it was the common Motorcraft 400 (Fram PH3600 for reference)that is used on many Ford products. Double checked to make sure and found it called for a Motorcraft 2005 (Fram PH8316). I was curious and checked the Fram site to check the specs.

Hello all, I have a 2000 Focus ZTS with a 2.0 Zetec. I'm in the market for a timing belt. For everything I can find, it says that my engine is an interference engine, however. I also find conflicting reports that Ford demanded that the ZeTec engine be freewheeling during design, this is attributed to an 80s fiasco with the Escort. Ford originally names the engine as a Zeta then changed it to Zetec. From 2003 the name was changed again to Duratec but the Duratec name covers more than one engine family and more than one generation, and different cylinder counts, with more later models being a completely different Mazda designed L-engine with intake VCT and DBW throttle.

It is held by two 8 mm bolts I believe. Also remove the upper timing belt dust cover. These are 8 mm as well. 4. Remove the valve cover. Start by dis-connecting the VCT connector on top and remove the spark plug galley cover if you have one. These are 8 mm bolts. The valve cover is held on by 8 mm bolts as well.
