Misfireproblem solved. I replaced the standard copper spark plugs with Bosch Platinum +2, while doing so I also cleaned the MAF and throttle body. Car ran great and my problem of jerky hesitation while in reverse was and is still cured. After about 1,100 miles I would get code P0301 (misfire cylinder 1) almost every time I would accelerate

Theold one had a crack in the plastic that would leak gas. The new pump and new seals fixed that problem. This was just related to a CEL for a very small emissions leak. If the gas smell on fill up ever comes back, I will be looking to Mercedes to honor the extended warranty for this problem. Thanks Tony
